ITAL 1 is the first course in the study of the Italian language. This course introduces students to the four skills necessary for language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will learn the sound system and basic grammatical structures. This course exposes students to everyday situations and cultural topics of the Italian language, culture, and civilization. This course is not recommended for native speakers of Italian or for students who have completed one year of high school Italian with a grade of B or better. Transferable to both UC and CSU 90 hours lecture, 18 hours laboratory |
